WEEK 6/15 — Consistency Isn’t Perfection

4/4 lifting sessions

3/2 runs — 16.6 km total

Average steps: 9,945/day

Average weight: 134.8 lbs

Average calories: ~2,417/day (Saturday estimated)

Target: 2,485 cals · 155P · 275C · 85F

Six weeks into this training block, and this week was a reminder that consistency doesn’t require perfection.

Training felt good. I completed all four lifts and three runs, although I split my longer run into two shorter sessions as a head cold set in. Sleep was rough, and by the weekend I was feeling pretty run-down.

Food tracking wasn’t perfect either, but I think there’s something worth sharing about that.

On Halloween, I tracked accurately right up until we went to a party, then estimated what I could while we were there. Sunday was accurately logged, but being sick meant I had very little appetite and didn’t come close to my usual targets.

Even when a day isn’t completely accurate, tracking half of it still keeps me engaged with the habit. There’s value in maintaining the routine and awareness, rather than deciding a day doesn’t count because one meal is difficult to estimate.

I returned to my usual accurate tracking on Monday. No compensation, no reset, just carrying on.

A few other observations from the week:

My lifts and runs felt strong earlier in the week, but illness and disrupted sleep made recovery the bigger priority by the weekend. The calorie average is less useful than usual because Saturday’s intake was estimated and Sunday’s was unusually low.

Changes for Week 7:

No changes to calorie or macro targets. I’ll focus on recovering, sleeping better, and easing back into training as symptoms improve rather than trying to make up for anything.

Six weeks in, I’m reminded that consistency isn’t about perfection in every detail. It’s about staying connected to the habits even when circumstances change.

On to Week 7.
