“What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open.” –Muriel Rukeyser
I could curate my presence in a way that has all the best intentions and all the right angles. I can be a coach. I can recommend, guide, and provide all the tips and tricks to make the process easier and more accessible. I can portray my life so you see what aligns and quietly hide everything that doesn’t.
Or, I could show you the truth…the art of life.
I could shed my shame and face my insecurities. I could say, “Yes, I might be getting it wrong, but I’m doing what feels the most honest, the most right in my gut.”
I could tell you about the moments that felt like failures, the things that work, and the things that don’t and all the imperfect ways I live that have actually built a life I love.
I could show you the messy process that becomes the beautiful expression and subsequent masterpiece of living.
How freeing would that be?
There are so many “conversations” being had that aren’t real conversations. So many interactions involve posturing in so many spaces, which negates real connection. There is so much we aren’t saying—as women, mothers, dreamers, lovers, humans—because we’re afraid of how it might come across, who it might offend, or whether we’ll be judged by others or, ultimately, by ourselves.
I have so many stories to tell and so many conversations to have to satisfy my curiosity, challenge me, and possibly change my mind.
It all starts with truth.
So here I am.
One woman who will tell the truth about her life.
