SUPPLEMENTS!!

Gooooood Morning!!!

Below are the names and links to the supplements I talked about in the VLOG I posted last evening.

1. COLLAGEN PEPTIDES

Sports Research brand – This is the one I talked about in the video.  The last time I ordered collagen I went with Vital Proteins brand because it was a a little less expensive and shipped faster.  Both of these are not currently available on Amazon, which is where I bought them from but I found another site which I have linked here for purchasing.

2. ELECTROLYTE HYDRATOR

Vega Sport brand – mix this with water for a jump start to your daily water intake or post sweat session for a electrolyte replacement.  I bought this on Amazon.  As I mentioned in the video there are 2 flavors.  Lemon Lime and Berry.  I switch between the two.

3. PROTEIN POWDER/NUTRITIONAL SHAKE

Vega All-In-One Nutritional Shake – This is my go-to quick breakfast or meal on the go and my post workout snack.  This has so much goodness packed into one scoop.  I definitely feel a difference when I take this regularly as far as increased energy and general well-being.  My favorite flavors are mocha and vanilla chai.  I occasionally buy chocolate and mix up mini-shakes for Emmett – he loves them!!  I usually buy this product on Amazon.

4. PRENATAL VITAMIN

Nature Made – This is the one I mentioned in the video – I bought this in the states but you can purchase this one on Amazon.  Another brand that I have taken is Mega Food brand.  This is a whole food vitamin and I like it a lot.  This product can also be purchased on Amazon.

5. B COMPLEX

I have been taking Jamieson brand lately but there are numerous brands of B Complex you can find at the drugstore, health food store, grocery store, etc.  I go with a 100mg complex but there are 50mg and 25mg formulas as well.  This supplement is so great for energy, stress, mood, immune health, and the list goes on. I purchase this one from the local drugstore but here is a link to Amazon for purchase.

6. VITAMIN C

I am taking Jamieson brand for this one as well.  I purchase at the local drugstore but have linked Amazon for purchase.  Vitamin C is vital for tissue repair and healthy maintenance of body tissues.  Vitamin C also strengthens the immune system and provides antioxidants to help rid the body of free-radicals.

7.  VITAMIN D

Nature’s Bounty brand — The mother of all vitamins for us northern dwellers.  Vitamin D is so very important for the maintenance of good health and well-being.  There are so many studies showing benefits to preventing vitamin D deficiency.  Adequate levels of vitamin D can promote the prevention of multiple sclerosis, many different forms of cancer, increased mood, healthy bones and teeth, as well as increased immune system support.  There’s no question on this one.  It’s a must!!  I found a 1000IU brand on Amazon.

8. MAGNESIUM

I am taking Life brand by Shoppers Drug Mart.  Like I said in the video, I generally take magnesium citrate because it has a higher bioavailability of the different formulations but this was based off of a little bit of research that I did.  I started taking this after reading that magnesium was a common deficient mineral for athletes.  It is said to increase energy and endurance.  I recently read an article that said Magnesium Orotate is the best formulation of magnesium.  If you can find a calcium-magnesium combination this is prime but I have to do a bit more reading on this.

9. RED WINE

Woop Woop!!  Resveratrol, proanthocyanidins, antioxidants – prevention of heart disease, cancer, lowered cholesterol…Red Wine, you are just a winner.  Friday night is wine night around here…after a long week of juggling kids and life, a glass of wine is just what the doctor ordered!!  I am partial to a good Cabernet or Malbec, but hey, I’m not too fussy.  I’ll take a red blend too like the one I showcased in the video by Beringer Estates.

There you have it!!

Once again I will remind you that I am not a nutritionist or a doctor.  I am just a self-educated/researching consumer.  These are the things that work for me, but my advice is not to replace advice from the wonderful professionals in your life.  Let me know if you have any questions!!  Have a great weekend!!

xo
