My First CrossFit Competition πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

This past weekend I competed in my first local CrossFit competition. #wodfest2019

.

Since starting CrossFit in June 2018, this sport continues to teach me patience, commitment, tolerance, endurance and strength every day.

.

In training, I get uncomfortable and meet my weaknesses at each session. #competition for me was about facing and acknowledging my fears of not being enough, of underperformance, of failure. In essence, these are my greatest fears in life.

.

I experienced anxiety going into each workout. In my head, I went over each movement at a time, thinking, strategizing, visualizing…πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

When it was time, I walked out on the competition floor, the internal noise went quiet, I turned my mind and body over to the event and gave it my best. πŸ’ͺ🏻

At the height of pain and fatigue, my inner voice slipped in to tell me not to get complacent, work harder, don’t give up. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I left this competition hungry to improve but certain that I put everything I had into each and every workout. #success πŸ†

Thank you to my β€œparents” Bev and Lyle for helping me with the kids and for coming out to cheer me on. I’m beyond grateful my #family got to see me compete this weekend and experience the sport I love so much.

Thank you @courtsims6 for being THE BEST PARTNER EVER and for fighting for every last rep alongside me. #shetough We went from 10th place to a #5thplace finish.

Thank you to @liveitandlovett for all your help and reassurance throughout the weekend. Even though the comp didn’t pan out the way you had envisioned, #brokenwing – you showed up with the most optimistic and supportive attitude. You have such admirable character and I’m inspired and proud of you for it. β™₯️

Thank you to @vo2maxhealthandperformance for putting on such an incredibly organized and well run event. I met so many awesome athletes this weekend. Everyone was friendly, uplifting and so very supportive of one another. #gpab πŸ’“

Thank you to my coach @ernievo2max for your amazing programming and for continuing to push me. I’m a better athlete for it. I look forward to getting stronger, fitter, and better with your guidance and support. πŸ™πŸ»
